fixyInspector is a Chrome extension by Fixholics (https://fixholics.com) that helps Salesforce administrators and developers inspect and edit records, query, export and import data, check org limits and call the Salesforce REST API. The published version of this policy is at https://fixholics.com/tools/fixyinspector/privacy/.
Summary
fixyInspector does not collect, transmit, sell or share any personal or organisational data. Everything stays in your browser. The only network requests go to your own Salesforce org, using the session you are already logged into, through Salesforce’s public APIs. fixyInspector has no analytics, no tracking, no remote configuration and no remote code, and it never contacts fixholics.com.
What the extension reads
| Data | Why | Where it goes |
|---|---|---|
Your Salesforce session cookie (sid) for the org in your current tab | To call your org’s APIs as you | Sent only in the Authorization header of requests to that org’s own *.my.salesforce.com host. Never stored, logged, exported or displayed. |
| The address of the tab you open fixyInspector on | To find the org and the record or object you are looking at | Kept in memory while the popup is open. |
| On Salesforce pages only: the page address, when you click the fixyInspector tab on the right edge | To open fixyInspector on that page | Passed to the fixyInspector panel and kept in memory. The tab script reads nothing else from the page. |
| Salesforce data and metadata you ask for: records, fields, users, query results, org limits and API responses | To show, edit, export or import them | Requested from your org and kept in memory on the page that shows them. Query results are never saved. |
| Only if your org uses API Access Control and you choose to connect with OAuth: an access token for that org | To call your org when the browser session is blocked | Kept in chrome.storage.session, which Chrome clears when the browser closes. You can delete it in Options. |
What it stores
chrome.storage.local, on your computer only: your settings, and per org your saved queries, query and REST history, query tabs, custom Setup links, import defaults and a cached list of your org’s objects. You can export, import or delete all of it from Options.- The position you drag the on-page tab to, so it stays there.
chrome.storage.session: the OAuth token described above, if you created one, and whether the Fixholics note was shown this session.- fixyInspector refuses to save anything that looks like a Salesforce session id, and backups never contain one.
What it changes in Salesforce
fixyInspector changes Salesforce data only when you ask it to: saving a record, running an import, deleting query results, turning on a debug log, unfreezing a user, resetting a password, deleting debug logs or sending a REST request you wrote. On production orgs every change asks you to confirm first.
What it does not do
- It sends no data to Fixholics or to anyone else, and makes no calls to fixholics.com.
- It has no analytics, crash reporting, advertising or tracking. Links to fixholics.com carry UTM tags, but these only travel if you click a link.
- It loads no remote code or remote configuration.
- It never asks for or stores usernames or passwords.
Permissions
- cookies: read your org’s Salesforce session cookie.
- storage: the local and session items listed above.
- activeTab: read the address of the Salesforce tab you open fixyInspector on.
- identity: only for the optional OAuth sign-in when your org blocks browser-session access.
- Access to Salesforce sites: call your org’s APIs and show the fixyInspector tab on Salesforce pages (you can turn it off in Options). No other sites are accessed.
Exports
Copy for Excel, CSV, JSON and the settings backup put data on your clipboard or in your Downloads folder. Where it goes from there is up to you. Exports never contain your session id.
Children
fixyInspector is a tool for Salesforce administrators and developers and is not directed at children under 13.
